Description / Background

Batemans Bay Soldiers Club contains several war memorials inside and on its grounds. Outside is a concrete semi-circular wall with polished black marble set into the front face, with multiple brass commemorative plaques with logos of the armed forces and commemorations for each war attached. The wall was constructed and paid for by the Soldiers Club Board, which currently consists of seven of nine RSL members. The concept is to use this memorial for services, should weather prevent them being held at the Clyde Street memorial. Behind the wall is a single flagpole and on the right is a Field Gun. Inside the club, a 'Wall of Honour', displays memorabilia and individual brass plaques listing veterans.
