Description / Background

White stone pillar with marble honor roll plaques, surmounted by a carved marble lion. The memorial was dedicated on 25 April 1921. It is protected by an iron awning.

A grant from the Department of Veterans' Affairs under the 'Their Service - Our Heritage' program was used for the restoration of the memorial in time for the Remembrance Day service in 1998. The memorial has since been refurbished by a small community team, including planting 47 trees, one for each man listed on the roll. The memorial was rededicated on Saturday 18 June 2011.

Nearby within the fenced grounds of the park is a Lone Pine propagated from the original Gallipoli battlefield stock. This memorial bears two plaques and provides added significance to the pillar. The tree was planted on 4 April 1999.
