Description / Background

A freestanding brick monument with two bronze plaques attached. The monument has been recessed into existing brick garden area with a flagpole behind. 

The monument was initiated and completed by Cowra RSL members. Construction was finished in December 2011. The dedication ceremony on Saturday 4 February 2012 included guest speakers Mr John Drum, South Western District President and rear Admiral (Ret.) Ken Doolan AO RSL National Executive.

Dimensions:

  • The monument is 120cm wide, 60cm deep and 160cm high. It is positioned on a concrete pad 175cm wide and 150cm deep.
  • The flagpole is 9m tall. It is a lockable style, made of aluminum and is mounted 15cm behind the memorial.
  • The upper plaque is 66cm wide and 44cm high. The lower plaque is 37cm wide and 44cm high.

The memorial is located in a small park on the western end of Kendall Street, next to the Target store.
