A large bushrock with attached bronze plaque bearing the dedication is located within the park. Inscription Ernest Grant Park is dedicated to the memory of Private Ernest Francis Grant of Thurgoona. Killed in Action on 18 Augst 1966, aged 20, during the Battle of Long Tan in the Vietnam Conflict 1962-1972. This plaque was unvelied by his father, Gordon Grant, Esq.
