Description / Background

A memorial park located opposite the Guyra and District Historical Society and Museum, formerly the Guyra Shire Council Chambers building. Part of the park is also known as Apex/Rotary Park.

At a meeting held in July 1951, the Reverend Mathieson suggested Guyra Shire Council dedicate land in Bradley Street as a memorial park. On 23 August 1951, the Guyra Argus reported the proposal would proceed.

All returned soldiers were invited to attend the dedication and planting of memorial trees on Saturday 25 August at 3.15 p.m. The dedication as a memorial park to those who fell in the world wars was conducted by Reverend C.G. Mathieson and was held as part of the Jubilee Australian Commonwealth Celebrations.
