Description / Background

The name 'Mortdale Memorial Park' was assigned to the Reserve in July 1997, and is a fitting war memorial commemorating the Mortdale people who served their country in time of war. The park features several memorials set within a well-kept, tranquil grassed area with numerous shade trees:

  • A central brick cenotaph to which is affixed a number of honour rolls
  • Flag staffs, service commemorative objects, and a number of individual memorials including for the Navy, Airforce and Nursing Service.

Note: Some name plaques list personnel under composite war headings, such as 'Korea, Malaya, Borneo and Vietnam' or 'World War II Korea'. In the list below, conflicts are included only when clearly identified for the person concerned.
