These include one with a dedication to those who fell in the South African War and several for individual soldiers. The foundation stone was laid on 15 October 1902. Inscription Dedication plaque This entrance was erected in memory of those who fell during the South African War 1899-1902. Inscription over arch He Doth Not Fail Who For His Country Falls Plaque 130 Sergeant Major James Mitchell, Tenterfield Squadron M.R. Killed at Elands River, 18th August 1900. Plaque 178. Trooper William Bender, Tenterfield Squadron M.R. Died at "Bloemfontein", 3rd April 1900 Trooper Arthur Percy Britten Grey, N.S.W. Bushmen. Died at "Pretoria", 19th Nov 1901.
