Two marble plaques placed on the lower part of the Wallsend Rotunda.

The plaque for Private King was dedicated on 29 August 1915, and the plaque for Lance Corporal Oliver was dedicated on 23 September 1917.

Inscription

Plaque:

Erected by the members of the Wallsend & Plattsburg model band. As a tribute to the memory of Pte William King 13th Battalion. Killed in action at the Dardanelles, 24th May 1915 Aged 21 years.' [Stonemason's mark: Browne, Newcastle]

Plaque:

Erected by his comrades of Wallsend & Plattsburg. As a tribute to the memory of Lance Corporal Lesley Oliver C Company 56th Battalion. Killed in action in France 2nd December 1916. Aged 22 Years. One of the best Australia could send, respected by all his faithful friends. [Stonemason's mark: Browne, Newcastle]
