The former Children's Memorial Ward was once part of the Glen Innes Hospital. It is now home to the 'Land of the Beardies History House Museum and Research Centre'. It is a brick gabled cottage with a galvanised iron roof. The verandah was enclosed to cater for the large numbers of children in the hospital's care. It was constructed in memory of the men who fought in the Great War. The foundation stone was laid by the Hon. John Wetherspoon MLC at the opening ceremony on 22 May 1926.
