Description / Background

The Ballina War Memorial Pool is a modern swimming pool complex, which was first constructed around 1974-1975. The foundation stone was laid on 7 September 1974 by Alderman J.S. Easter, the Mayor of Ballina.

Originally consisting of a single Olympic-sized pool, the facility was renovated in 2018 and additional outdoor and undercover pools were built. A monument was also installed in the front courtyard, bearing plaques from the original cenotaph that is no longer on site.
