Description / Background

Located inside Bingara RSL Club, this bronze plaque is dedicated to all those who have served, especially those who made the supreme sacrifice. It was installed as part of the 'Australia Remembers' campaign, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The dedication was held on 19 August 1995.

The Australian Government funded a number of activities, including memorial plaques, as part of Australia Remembers program. Around town, other Australia Remembers memorials include the Bingara Australia Remembers Tree and a garden on Maitland Street planted in honour of women homefront workers.
