The Callan Park War Memorial is a unique curved wall, designed and built in a Spanish style with a rough rendered wall treatment and a tile roof/coping. A lion-shaped fountain head is located in the central niche within the wall. The niche is flanked by two pillars that are faced with two plaques surrounded by moulded concrete garlands of Australian gumnuts, leaves and flowers.
The memorial is located 50 metres from the traffic lights at the corner of Balmain Road and Cecily Street. This is the entrance to Callan Park and Rozelle Hospital.
Notes on veteran names: Donald McArthur is given on the memorial as Donald McArter. The Australian War Memorial records also award Donald McArthur a DCM. All status codes are taken from information found on the Australian War Memorial Roll of Honour and in the National Archives of Australia.
