Gulgong War Widow's Guild Social Club Memorial Garden Middle Image Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background This small memorial garden is located on the eastern side of the Anzac Memorial Park. It is in the shape of a boomerang and located on the western side of the Lone Pine Tree alongside a bush-rock and plaque. The garden includes rosemary shrubs and a cluster of other plants. The boomerang shape has Indigenous motifs painted onto the concrete blocks. The Lone Pine Tree was planted by the Gulgong RSL sub-Branch on Anzac Day 2000. The garden was established as a field of remembrance established by the Gulgong RSL sub-Branch and dedicated on 11 November 2012. The garden originally included crosses representing the Royal Australian Navy, the Australian Army, the Royal Australian Air Force, the Merchant Navy, Women's Services and the Unknown Warriors. There is now an additional plaque in the garden for the War Widow's Guild Social Club. The Club was established on 27 September 2003 in memory of their husbands who served. The plaque was dedicated by Rev Jorie Ryan, Chaplain Gulgong RSL sub-Branch, and unveiled by Mrs Wendy Thompson, State President on 23 April 2013.
