Inverell Memorial Olympic Pool World War I Honour RollInverell and District Memorial Olympic Pool, opening plaque
Description

This timber and brass First World War honour roll is located in the centre of the front wall of the Inverell and District Memorial Olympic Pool. It was unveiled when the pool was officially opened by Lieutenant General Gordon Bennett on 1 November 1958.

At the base of the roll is a plaque dedicated to the awarding of Australia's highest military honour, the Victoria Cross, to Pte George Cartwright on 31 August 1918. A second metal plaque is also attached there, inscribed with additional names of those who served in the war.

Other honour rolls on the wall commemorate the Second World War and a number of other conflicts in which Australians have served.
