Description / Background

This war memorial consists of a brass plaque, mounted on a concrete plinth. The plaque is in honour of those who served during the Second World War.

The plaque features the logo of the 'Australia Remembers 1945–1995' campaign. This was a programme of activities organised by the Australian Government to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of the war. Numerous similar plaques can be found throughout Australia, featuring the same logo but with different inscriptions.

The memorial is set within a small garden in McLachlan Park in Maclean, NSW.

Note: The former Maclean Shire is now part of the Clarence Valley Council.
