Description / Background

This war memorial is a simply designed timber honour roll for the community of Mitchells Island, NSW. It lists the names of 37 veterans who served in the Second World War and two who served in Korea. Of the 37, five are marked as fallen and six women are listed under the sub-heading 'Women's Services'. All the names are neatly printed in gold, across two columns, in the centre of the board.

The memorial is located in the Mitchell Island School of Arts, where it can be viewed during opening hours. Also on site is the Mitchells Island First World War Honour Roll.
