Description / Background

This timber honour roll lists the names of 71 'Old Boys' and teachers from Mittagong Superior Public School who served in the First World War. The names are painted in gold, in two columns.

The roll was dedicated during a brief ceremony at the school on Empire Day, 24 May 1917. Mr W.H. Jones unveiled the roll in front of a large crowd and several songs were sung by the students (Robertson Advocate, 29 May 1921).

The roll is located inside Mittagong Public School. Access to the memorial is by appointment/tour.
