Description / Background

A simple rectangular dark timber roll of honour listing those who served in the First and Second World Wars from Furracabad near Glen Innes.

On Sunday 27 May 1917, a First World War roll of honor was unveiled at the Furracabad School of Arts by the Reverend A.P. Cameron. Over seventy people attended the function and the Glen Innes Examiner, 31 May 1917 listed the names on the roll.

On Saturday 4 October 1947, Mervyn Cattell and Peter Tomkins of the armed forces were welcomed home at a function in Furracabad. On the occasion, an old resident of the district, Mrs E. Skinner, unveiled this version of the roll. It would appear the original roll has been lost.
