Everingham arrived in Plymouth on 14 September 1916. He crossed to France on 16 January 1917 and was taken on strength of 2nd DAC on 19 February 1917. He was transferred to 105th Battery on 27 November 1917.

Everingham returned to Australia on the Mahia, disembarking on 20 July 1919. He was discharged on 4 September 1919.
