Description / Background

Two memorials within a fenced area on Forbes Street, at the intersection with Maybe Street in Bombala. 

The First World War memorial was unveiled on 23 April 1922. It is a pillar made from trachyte surmounted by the figure of a soldier with rifle in the reverse slope position. Dedications and the honour roll are inscribed on the sides. The other memorial is dedicated to the Second World War, later conflicts and Peacekeeping. It is a cuboid monument made from polished red granite with brass name plaques attached. It was dedicated on Anzac Day 1999. 

Note on veteran's name: A A Margrie is given in Australian War Memorial records as Harry Ashburn Margrie.
