Description / Background

These War Memorial Gates are situated on the driveway leading to the Dundee Cemetery. The two large metal gates are decorated with metal fleurs-de-lys and the words 'Dundee Cemetery War Memorial Gates' across the top. To the right side of the gate is a large granite bushrock with the unveiling plaque attached.

This plaque was unveiled by Mr Hugh Stevenson Dundee's last surviving World War II veteran assisted by Mr Ray Spackman New England District Councillor for the Returned Services League of Australia (NSW Branch) and dedicated by Capt Mary Timperley, of the Salvation Army, Glen Innes. 

To commemorate the official opening of the Dundee Cemetery War Memorial Gates on Saturday 6th May 2006.
