2020 marks 75 years since the end of the Second World War. To commemorate this important year, the NSW Government interviewed WWII veterans about their experiences. Read our 75th Anniversary Stories.
The memorial is a single large concrete block to which a bronze plaque is attached. In addition to the inscription, the plaque contains the badges of the Royal Australian Navy, the Australian Commonwealth Military Forces and the Royal Australian Air Force. This is the last in a series of special memorials on the pathway from the Rocky Hill War Memorial Museum to the nearby First World War memorial tower.
