The School of Arts porch area was established in and dedicated in 1930. The porch has had several memorials added since that time, including multiple commemorative plaques and honour rolls. The obelisk and wall were established in 2001 and dedicated on 18 October 2002 and this is detailed on two plaques attached to the memorial. There is also a commemorative plaque for the occupation of the Gresford Showground by the 16th Motor Regiment during the Second World War.

This porch was erected by the Paterson & Allyn Rivers R.S. & S.I.L. of Aus. as a memorial to their comrades who gave their lives in the Great War 1914-1918.
