Fairey Firefly fighter plane mounted on a stand at the Visitor Information Centre on Banna Avenue, Griffith. Accompanying the plane is a rock with the inscription and small silver plaque. Please note, it appears there is one plaque missing.

This memorial was unveiled by Commander AH Gordon MVODFCRAN on the 26th April 1969

This Fairey Firefly aircraft was in action in Korea

This Aircraft, Acquired from H.M.A.S Albatross Nowra, Designed & Built in Britain during 1941 as World War II Naval Reconnaissance Aircraft.

Saw Active Service on H.M.A.S. in Korea.

Specifications 2245 H.P. Rolls Royce Griffon 12 Cylinder Liquid cooled Engine. Max Speed 386 MPH.
