Description / Background

The memorial is a polished timber honour board with names in gold leaf. It commemorates Gunbar citizens who served in the First World War. It does not include the names of those from the Gunbar Presbyterian Church community whose names appear on the Gunbar Presbyterian Church First World War Roll of Honour.

The board was commissioned by members of the Gunbar community in 1919. Originally housed in the Gunbar Hall, the board is now located in the Gunbar Pioneer Memorial Church, previously the Gunbar Presbyterian Church.
