Description / Background

Brick memorial wall surrounding the hall. The hall was built in 1929-1930. The wall appears to have been built at a later date, possibly during the 1950s or 1960s, for two reasons. Firstly, the plaque commemorates both the First World War and Second World War. Secondly, the type of bricks used seem to have originated from the old Heathcote Brick Works that closed in 1978.

Inscription

This Memorial Wall was ereceted in memory of our comrades who gave their lives in World Wars 1 and 2. "Lest we forget."
