This black stone monument was the original war memorial in Macksville, until the construction of a larger Macksville War Memorial in 2014. It was dedicated to those from the Nambucca Valley who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars. It was later updated to include a veteran of the Vietnam War. Two honour roll plaques are attached to the side of the monument.
