Description / Background

A tapered triangular obelisk made of copper, approximately 8 metres high. A copper plaque is attached to each face at waist height. The memorial is located opposite the Fire Station. 

Inscription

South-east face

To perpetuate the memory of the men and women of Maitland and District who gave their lives for their country during World War I 1914-1918. Lest we forget.

North-east face

To perpetuate the memory of the men and women of Maitland and District who gave their lives for their country during World War II 1939-1945 and the Korean War. Lest we forget.

West face

To perpetuate the memory of the men and women of Maitland and District who gave their lives for their country during Malaya, Borneo, Vietnam and subsequent campaigns. Lest we forget.
