Description / Background

A curved stone wall, featuring a large cross in the centre. It is positioned in a memorial garden and accompanied by a boulder with a plaque. The memorial was established in 1967 and upgraded in 1995. The memorial is located next to Padstow Railway Station.

Padstow War Memorial.

This memorial is dedicated to those service men and women who paid the supreme sacrifice. Lest we forget. Unveiled by the Governor of New South Wales His Excellency Rear Admiral Peter Sinclair AC, RAN, Ret. 22nd May 1995. Erected by the citizens of the City of Bankstown & members of Padstow RSL Sub-Branch. This site was originally unveiled on the 8th April 1967 by Mr J A Grant JP RSL State Councillor. Ald R S Lockwood Mayor of Bankstown & E E Sarchfield B.E.M., JP President Padstow RSL.
