Parkes Cemetery Great War Memorial Middle Image Image Image Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The memorial is a marble statue of a First World War soldier holding an unbayoneted rifle, and standing at ease. The statue is supported by a Yorkshire and Pyrmont pedestal, which is mounted on three large steps with risers to place wreaths on. The whole memorial is positioned on a concrete platform and stands 5.3 metres high. The masons were C. J. Shakespeare and Son of Court Street, Parkes.
