Description / Background

In 1920 the Pinkett Progress Association took action to construct a memorial dedicated to the district soldiers who served in the First World War. A committee was appointed to consider the matter, and a commodious hall was constructed some eight months later. Mr H. Pettit made the land available to the trustees. It was opened in late February 1921 by Pettit during a social dance, and was registered as a hall on 6 May 1921.

It is a typical country community hall constructed of timber with a gabled galvanised iron roof. A brick entrance was constructed in 1988 with a Bicentennial and Glen Innes Severn Council Grant with assistance from the local community.
