Part of the Railway Remembrance Wall, this bronze plaque commemorates the Railway Construction and Maintenance Group of the Royal Australian Engineers, Australian Imperial Force (R.A.E A.I.F.). In addition to the inscription, it has the Australia Remembers 1945-1995 crest and the State Rail logo. This memorial is located near platform 23.

Additional information by Sydney Trains:

A bronze plaque with the title 'Australia Remembers 1945-1995', and commemorates the Railways Construction and Maintenance Group in the Second World War.

It was unveiled in 1995 and fixed to the western Railway Remembrance Wall at Central Station.

Australia Remembers 1945-1995

This plaque commemorates the formation of the Railway Construction and Maintenance Group R.A.E. A.I.F., under the command of Lt. Col. K A Fraser composed of skilled railway workers and other specialised personnel.

The Hon. Brian Langton, MP, Minister for Transport and Minister for Tourism.
