2020 marks 75 years since the end of the Second World War. To commemorate this important year, the NSW Government interviewed WWII veterans about their experiences. Read our 75th Anniversary Stories.
The memorial is a single large concrete block to which a bronze plaque is attached. The names of the servicemen from the Goulburn area are inscribed together with a replica of the Khedive's Star medal from 1884-1886. More information about these medals can be found at he Australian War Memorial website. This is one of a series of special memorials on the pathway from the Rocky Hill War Memorial Museum to the nearby First World War memorial tower.
The Soudan Campaign 1885
This plaque is to commemorate
the 120th Anniversary of this Campaign
and to honour
the Goulburn men listed below,
who went as part of the
New South Wales contingent to the Soudan
(Egypt) on the 3rd March 1885 and all returned
safely on the 23rd June 1885.
