The original obelisk was unveiled on 25 September 1921. It was rebuilt in 2003 and rededicated on 11 November. Springdale is a village about 16.5 km east of Temora in the Parish of Gundibindyal. The Memorial was rebuilt in 2003 by Vietnam Veterans of the South West Slopes with the support of the Springfield Community. Major supporters have been the Department of Veteran Affairs, Brian & Joy Kahlefeldt and the Temora Shire Council.
