St Mary's Church Great War Honour Roll, Maitland

Description

The Honour Roll is located at the west entrance of the church. It is a woodern board with names listed in five vertical panels. It was designed by W.H. Pender of Maitland in December 1924, and documented as a 'Memorial Screen'. Two sets of plans are now located in the Cultural Collections, Level 2 Auchmuty Library, University of Newcastle.

Notes on veteran names:

  • No records can be found for deceased veterans from this area with the following names: W F Carson, F P Collier. Their status codes have been given as Killed in action (KIA), as that is what is indicated by the memorial.
  • All other status codes are taken from information in the Australian War Memorial Roll of Honour, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission database and the National Archives of Australia.
