Description / Background

The Stockton War Memorial is a sandstone column with granite name plates, surmounted by a statue of an Australian soldier, complete with rifle. The whole rests upon a set of sandstone steps.

The memorial is located between Dalby Oval and Rawson Park.

World War II

This monument was erected in memory of the gallant men who enlisted from Stockton and served their country in the Great War (1914 - 1919) for the honour and integrity of Australia and the British Empire and in the defense of freedom.
