A timber backing board with the crest of the Royal New South Wales Regiment. Below the crest is a brass dedication plaque signed by the Commanding Officer.

Inscription

This plaque was dedicated to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the formation of the 4th Infantry Regiment in Newcastle on 6 March 1884. This plaque was presented by the serving members of the Second Battalion Royal New South Wales Regiment to honour all those citizens of the Newcastle area who have served in the Armed Forces in defence of their country, both in peace and in war. Lt Col L.B. Kelly E D Commanding Officer.
