The plaque is an honour roll and dedicates the Operating Theatre Wing of the Uniting War Memorial Hospital to individuals who served in the First World War, particularly to "the boys of the 21st [and] 22nd Battalions of the Waverley-Woollahra Senior Cadets who returned not". It is located at the entrance to the building on the right-hand side pillar.
The Edina building is surrounded by numerous hospital buildings, a garden/park facing directly opposite the building, as well as areas of conglomeration between the elderly and workers.
The War Memorial Hospital is a large collection of buildings, situated between Birrel St and Bronte Rd. The hospital is operated by the Uniting Church.
