Description / Background

The Bugladie Memorial Hall is a small building located in the village of Bulgadie (previously known as Bugaldi) in the northwestern region of NSW. It is a typically designed country hall with a high gabled roof, a front central doorway and windows on each side of the entrance.

Prior to the opening of the current memorial hall in 1922, a previous hall had existed on the site since 1912. This was known as the Bulgaldi hall. During Easter 1919 the Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative reported that a sports day and social event were to be held at the hall to help raise money for the building of a memorial hall. A year later in May 1920, the Mudgee Guardian reported that the Bugaldi Sporting Club was to hold a day of mixed sports on Empire Day to raise funds for what was then known as the Bugaldi Soldiers' Memorial Hall.
