The board has a traditional carved wooden pediment on the top with supporting shelves located on the top and bottom of the board. On either side of the board are carved wooden columns with the names of 42 former students printed in gold lettering in the centre. Different symbols are printed next to many of the names to indicate that they were killed in action, died of wounds, wounded or reported missing. The names are not listed in alphabetical order, indicating that the memorial was dedicated whilst the war was still ongoing. This is reinforced by the fact that the title on the top of the board lists the date of the Great War as "1914-" with no end date recorded. A call had been placed in March 1917 for a roll of honour to record the names of the old boys of the Geurie Public School that were serving in the military forces to be established. A concert was held by the school’s pupils to help meet the cost of producing the memorial. The Geurie Public School Roll of Honour was officially unveiled in Dawson's Hall, Geurie on the 1st of June 1917. Mr J. M. Whiteley, President of the Cobbora Shire Council led the proceedings. He called on Mr E. Campling, District Inspector of Schools, to unveil the honour board. He was supported by other speakers including L. D. Turnbull, F. S. Lovett, W. F. Stephenson and Reverend Ramsay. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem and entertainment was later provided in Ramsay's Hall. The Roll of Honour board was later relocated to the Geurie Public School and is now located in the school administration building (formally the Geurie Public School Memorial Library) which was dedicated in 1953.
