Gum Flat Second World War Roll of Honour Middle Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The memorial is a bronze honour roll for the Second World War. At the top is a stylised laurel wreath and on both sides are depictions of Australian flora, including Waratahs, flannel flowers, eucalyptus leaves, and Christmas bells. The names are inscribed on individual metal plates and attached in the centre of the board, below the dedication. The roll was made by the Wunderlich Company of Sydney, who made many honour rolls that can be found throughout New South Wales. The company would provide the bronze panel, complete with decorative features, to their customer and then the names plaques would be attached as required. The stylised Australian flora, including the dominant Waratah plant, was typical of the of their style in the period from the 1920s. The memorial is located in the Gum Flat Hall and access to it is restricted to the opening hours of the hall.
