Description / Background

The memorial is a painted timber honour board, with a classical pediment at the top. The pediment is includes two emblems of the Returned Services League of Australia, painted in full colour. A simple border frames the honour board.

The names of 62 personnel who served in past conflicts from Iluka and environs are painted in gold and listed in three columns: with the Boer War and First World War in the first column; the Second World War in the second column and the third column containing Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Peacemakers and Peacekeepers. The veterans listed from the Second World War onwards are grouped alphabetically in Army, Navy, Merchant Navy and Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) sections. An asterisk before a name denotes a female veteran.

A Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grant was awarded in June 2016 to install the honour board, which is situated in the Iluka Soldiers' Memorial Hall.
