Description / Background

The Jindabyne War Memorial consists of a series of bushrocks and stone plinths, grouped together in pairs. The plinths have been constructed by cementing smaller rocks together. Attached to several of the plinths and bushrocks are six plaques in honour of those who have served in conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

There are three bronze honour rolls included in the plaques, listing veterans of the First and Second World Wars, and the Vietnam War. The other three plaques acknowledge the Korean War, conflicts and peacekeeping missions post-1975, and those who served under the National Service Scheme.

The memorial is located in the leafy surrounds of Banjo Patterson Park, in the Jindabyne town centre.
