Description / Background

Within the grounds of Paxton Public School is a war memorial garden, dedicated to all who have served. The garden features flowering shrubs and plants, and is edged by a rock border. Several flagpoles are also positioned within and near the garden, and are used for wreath laying during commemorative services.

The garden also includes three plaques. The first two are bronze plaques, attached to a brick pillar. One is decorated with the Rising Sun emblem of the Australian Imperial Force and the second states the garden was dedicated on Anzac Day, 25 April 1996. The third plaque is made of metal and is attached to a bushrock. It is in honour of those who served in the Second World War, Korea, the Malayan Emergency, Indonesian Confrontation, and Vietnam.

Access to the garden itself is restricted as it is inside the school's property; however, it is visible from Anderson Avenue. Also within the school is the Paxton District School World War Roll of Honour
