Description / Background

This Roll of Honor board is located within the Woodstock Soldiers Memorial Hall. It was made to commemorate the men from the area that served during the First World War. It consists of metal board with a decorative border and 66 names listed in six columns in the centre. Each name is printed on an individual brass plate. 14 of the names have a black cross printed next to them which indicates that these men were killed in action.  The roll is mounted onto a wooden backing board next to the Second World War Roll of Honour.
