Harold's two brothers also served in the war, but they are not recorded on the Gundagai South African (Boer) War Memorial as they survived:

  • Trooper James Marshall attended school in Gundagai. He resided in South Africa after his service ended. He died in South Africa in early 1929.
  • Trooper Fred M Marshall (service no. 602) served with the Bethune's Mounted Infantry and the South African Light Horse.
