Remembering our heroes

This memorial of Monaro boulders commemorates the Centenary of Anzac (1915 -2015) and of World War 1. It honours the sacrifices made by all members of the Bombala and District communities and their families.

"Dignity and Permanence" created by Andreas Buisman, sculptor, is installed, together with the boulders, to create a contemplative space, emanating dignity and the power of permanence. This memorial reflects the country from where these volunteers came and where they went.

The boulders represent the young men lost in World War 1 from the Bombala District. Collectively they remind us of the sacrifice and valour of all who served Australia during this conflict.

Please sit on the boulders, wander through, relax, and contemplate "Dignity and Permanence."
