Description / Background

This timber Roll of Honour for the First World War can be found affixed to a wall inside Boomi’s All Saints Church of England, built in 1905. The roll is constructed with three panels, each listing names. There is no end date inscribed for the war.

The memorial board lists 58 First World War veterans from Boomi who saw service in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) during the war. Of those listed, eight are marked with an asterisk indicating they had 'laid down their life'. Twelve of the listed veterans are unable to be identified on the A.I.F., National Archives of Australia or Australian War Memorial databases.
