Description / Background

Windsor Park in Greenacre, NSW, forms part of the Remembrance Driveway, a living memorial that runs along the Hume and Federal Highways between Sydney and Canberra.

The park was established in 1955 as a war memorial to employees of the New South Wales Railways who served in the Second World War and the Korean War. A plaque on site records the officially dedication of the park on 16 July 1955. The plaque is attached to a low plinth, which is surrounded by a metal fence and accompanied by a flagpole.

In 1995, the park was upgraded through the planting of additional eucalypts and grevillea trees.
