Description / Background

Large cast bronze plaque mounted on the western face of the sandstone bridge arches of the Eddy Avenue ramp at Central Station. The plaque features the Rising Sun badge of the Australian Commonwealth Military Forces. Two of the decorative bronze corner studs are missing. It lies within the curtilage of the heritage listing for Central Station and Sydney Yard Group. 

Inscription

Erected by the Government of NSW in commemoration.

Past this place marched the men who went from New South Wales with the Australian Imperial Forces to fight in the Great War of 1914 - 1919.
